Desert State Wrestling Open II Saturday September, 25th 2010

Fall Folkstyle(High School rules) Wrestling Series K-12 grades and Adult!
When: Saturday September, 25th 2010 ( Oct. dates coming soon!)
Saturday competitions!
Where: Perry High School: 1919 East Queen Creek Road, Gilbert, (480) 224-2800
Weigh in at 11 am, and wrestling starts at 12 noon sharp! Wrestling concludes at 4pm.
What: A chance for youth wrestlers to get mat time, develop skills, and insure that Folkstyle is learned first, before freestyle is taught and explored.
A chance to get mat time for high school and junior high wrestlers, before the season begins, in the style YOU will be using.
K-12 tournaments, with a 1-1-1 minute periods for each match.
LOCAL COLLEGE WRESTLING STARS FROM GRAND CANYON UNIV. WILL BE THERE TO SIGN AUTOGRAPHS AND TAKE PICTURES!!!!
How: This will be run in the jamboree style, with each wrestler guaranteed two matches.
The weight classes will run in 10 lb. increments for K-8. (I.E. 80-90, 90-100, etc.)
The divisions will be:
K-1, 2-3 grades, 4-5 grades 6, 7, 8 grades, High School Division, Adult division
High School and Adult division will use the weights for high school competition.
NFHS wrestling rules apply.
$20.00 per wrestler, paid by pre-registration, or weight-Ins day of tournament $25.00.
All competitors must have a signed parental waiver. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Why: To increase opportunities for off-season competition!
To help make the sport of wrestling more visible!
To help youngsters embrace this sport!
Extras: An outstanding wrestler will be crowned with a medal for each age division.
Medals are awarded to those who are undefeated, or suffer one loss or two. (Gold, Silver, Bronze) Samurai Swords to OUTSTANDING WRESTLERS! These symbolize the warrior wrestlers are!
Concessions are available. FULL CONCESSIONS!
Parents are encouraged to attend and cheer on their wrestler.
Admission $5.00 per person- Children under 4 are FREE

I understand that wrestling is a contact sport, and that injuries can and will occur. I do not hold Cage Warriors LLC, or The Chandler Unified School District responsible if any such unfortunate accidents occur. I realize that the staff and coaches are highly trained, CPR and Sport Safety certified from the Red Cross. I give my permission for my child to attend the tournament. This covers all liability for competition.
